some summer vacation this is...

it's exam week and luckily i've only got one exam to take, but where am i on all those other days off i have? at work. graduation season sucks. and next week, the first week of "summer vacation" where will i be? at work. yes, yes, graduation season really, really sucks, but that's not all! summer classes start when else but next week as well! and to top it all off, thanks to an extremely hectic scheduele i had around easter, i'm on the verge of failing speech. i really, really hope i'm able to squeeze by and not have to take it again. the exam is tomorrow and i really should be doing the review (which i can also turn in for extra credit), yet here i am... surfing the web and typing out blog entries. i'm such a procrasinator, and no, that's not entirely why i wasn't able to finish my last speech on time the wednesday after easter. that was primarily due to burn-out and work, work, work!

i got into a new manga series recently, saiyuki. it's great, and not because of the bishounen element that stupid little fangirls love so much. perish the thought! (no, i'm serious). when i was at borders buying the first volume (along with the second and third volumes of azumanga diaoh, the ninth volume of maison ikkoku, and the first two volumes of no need for tenchi!) there were some potentially annoying fangirls looking through the graphic novel section. this is just a huge pet peeve of mine. i quote "blah-blah-not-really-listening MY inuyasha blah-blah" and "yadda-yadda-not-important-enough-to-remember my sesshomaru yadda-yadda". i jure HATE it when people do that. they're characters in a book and technically, the only people they BELONG to are their creators (in this case rumiko takahashi). it just really, really, REALLY bugs me when people refer to their favorite characters like they're dating them (not that many people even refer to their significant other as "my..." anyway). dumb little fangirls... what's worse is i probably appeared to be their age... *shudders* know what i mean?
